Hershey

December 7, 2010 - Accidents can happen at anytime with a pet. Even at HSCC. Hershey is currently at the vet having surgery on his jaw. His foster mom ( who has fostered for us for 3 yrs) walked into another room leaving him and her dogs in the living room. The next thing she heard was a cry from the pup. She went and picked him up and called the vet to have him seen. Hershey is a very sweet 10 week old pup. Please keep him in your thought for a speedy recovery. We will keep you posted on his status as soon as we hear from our vet. So far his Vet bills are over $400.00

UPDATE – December 19, 2010 – Hershey has experienced a set back in his recovery from a broken jaw. His growth is so rapid that another surgery is required in order to stabilize his changing jawbone. He is eating well and otherwise a healthy, happy pup.

UPDATE-December 27th, 2010-Hershey had a recheck today with our vet. She is very pleased with his jaw and he does not have to go back until January 10th.

UPDATE-January 10th, 2011-Hershey was able to have his cloth muzzle removed today. He loves to run around with his mouth wide open, just because he can.

UPDATE-January 26th, 2011-Hershey had his recheck x-rays today. The Vet cleared him to go to his forever home!

UPDATE-January 26th, 2011-Hershey with his new family. They have been waiting patiently for their new family member.

UPDATE-February 5th, 2011-Hershey’s mom writes:

Hershey is great!  He is such a sweet boy!  He is adjusting to our routine rather well… as are we to his!  He’s had a lot of visitors and is great with everyone!  He is sitting under my chair as I type this… He doesn’t let me out of his sight ever and when I do leave him with Jason and the boys, he just sits by the door waiting for me to return.  We laugh at how attached he is to me… It’s like another son (a furry one)! He has so many toys and is enjoying all of them!  He loves his walks and we are so glad to have him in our family… he gets constant attention! We are in love with him… sweetest thing, ever!  THANKS SO MUCH!
